The World Factbook


The World Factbook, which is produced annually by the Central Intelligence
Agency (CIA), is now available as an ExInEd electronic publication in a quick,
easy-to-use, interactive format. A compendium of useful facts about every

The World Factbook is a HyperCardЁ stack designed to run on a color
MacintoshЁ computer with at least 2.5 megabytes of available RAM,
sufficient hard disk space to contain the software, System 7.0, and HyperCard
2.1 or HyperCard Player 2.1.

Electronic PictureBooks are HyperCardЁ stacks designed to run on a color
MacintoshЁ computer with at least 2.5 megabytes of available RAM,
sufficient hard disk space to contain the Electronic Picturebook, System 7.0,
and HyperCard 2.1 or HyperCard Player 2.1.

This Electronic PictureBook is one of a series being produced by the
Exploration in Education (ExInEd) program at the Special Studies Office of the
Space Telescope Science Institute (ST ScI). The purpose of the ExInEd program
is to discover new tools and approaches to relate space science and exploration
to basic teaching and learning, and it involves searching for new ways to
assemble and distribute the results of research, particularly images.
