Space vehicle "Viking"

“Viking" - is an american automatic orbital and landing station for Mars investigations. It consists of an orbital unit, investigating the aerocentrial orbit (the orbitaround the Mars) and a landing unit. In 1975 2 stations "Viking-1" and "Viking-2" were launched and their units reached Mars in 1976 and transmitted for the first time the image of Mars surface.

The most resultative were the flights of the two american "Vikings", launched in 1975. On board the spaceship there were telecameras infrared spectrometres for water stream registration in atmosphere and for getting temperature datas.
