"Skylab" (English: sky laboratory), the american orbital station for the flights in the Earth orbit; the programme of its design. It was put into the orbit in 14.5.73. It was equiped with the apporatus for the space investigation, medicobiological and technical investigation and for the other tasks. The maximum mass was 77 tones. The living parts' volume was near 340 m?. The station was not aimed to returne to the Earth; the crew changing was carried by the transport spaceship "Apollo". In 1973 - 1974 the three crews were working on board the station (3 persons in one) the maximum duration of the flight was 84 days (the 3d crew). 11.7.1979 was the last day of this station.
