The Virgin.

This is the constellation in Zodiac. It lays between the Lion and the Scales. Its brightest star is Spica, that means "spike". In Greek's miyhs the Virgin presents the Godness of love and Motherhood.

The Virgin's star g named Pomira. This is a double system with a long orbit and a period of 171 year. The maximum distance between them was 6" in 1925 and it will be 0,5" in 2011. The light of the each component is 3,5 of star value.

Near the Virgin star r there is an interesting galaxy M 87 (or the radiogalaxy of the Virgin A) aproximetly the 9th star value. This is a massive elliptical star system the core of which throws a powerful plasma jet. The most bright quasar (3C 273) lays in the Virgin, but it is able to see this quasar only in a big telescope.
