This collection of links is sparse at the moment. If you have a home page (or know of one) that is related somehow to GIMP, let me know, and I'll include it here.

• Plug-in sources:
  • Frederico Mena Quintero has the MOST incredible GIMP logo on his home page right now. CHECK IT OUT! Oh, and he's also written some plug-ins :).

  • Adam D. Moss has created a registry for GIMP plug-ins. This is a great place to check often, because it seems like whenever you turn around it has new plug-ins.

  • Stephen R. Norris has written a couple of plug-ins, too, and has designed a very nice home page (unrelated to the GIMP) with some good design tips and pointers.

  • Torsten Martinsen has a page here that lists a whole bunch of plug-ins that appear on his home page before they make their way onto the registry.

  • Tom Bech is writing a Lighting Effects plug-in, and has an alpha for testing available! It's got tons of potential.

  • Michael J. Hammel's GIMP web site has several neat things, not the least of which is his port of the sparkle utility to a GIMP plug-in.

  • Jim Geuther has a very large collection of plugins he has written here. There are a lot of colormap manipulation tools included.

  • Jan Hubicka is the author of a math plugin, that allows you to use fairly complex and arbitrary formulas as filters on an image. This lets you do things like the Mandelbröt set and such. cool.

  • GIMP's FTP site is a site to check every now and then to see if the GIMP authors have sneakily uploaded something.

• Marc Bless has written a plug-in writing tutorial for GIMP.

• Mike Philips has put up a GIMP page, and he has written a nifty rounded text tutorial.

• Larry Ewing has some terrific art on his home page, created entirely with GIMP. He is the creator of the Linux Penguin Mascot.

• There's a very nifty tip on Ed's GIMP page, as well as a collection of links and some GIF animation tools.

• There is a Forgotten Mirror Site that has the only step-by-step guide for a GIMP text effect that I can find anywhere (besides mine of course :).

• There is a GIMP mailing list. This is apparently a secret :). Actually, I suspect I don't read the Linux newsgroups enough to have caught the post announcing this, recently. At any rate, to subscribe, you need to mail majordomo@xcf.berkeley.edu with the one-line message subscribe gimp-list. This mailing list is also archived at Jason Garman's hypermail site. This was recently added, so not all traffic is here, but it's still great to check on if you don't have the time or mailbox space for the actual mailing list.
