Supernova 2006jc in UGC 4904

Discovery is shared by Koichi Itagaki (Japan) and
Tim Puckett and R. Gorelli (USA).
At first this was lised as a possible supernovae, as Mr. Itagaki had
posted a
suspect image at
almost exactly this location in 2004 (image indexed on this page).
Spectra for this object originally reported it as a type Ib,
but further reduction shows it to be a young type Ia, then back to a Ib,
and now a type Ic.
We have a DSS Photometry reference image made by Odd Trondal.

This supernova is in the
Constellation Lynx located near
NGC 2798.
