VLA observations of the most metal-deficient BCGs in HI-line |

On the results of the VLA HI map analysis of the binary system SBS 0335-052 of forming dwarf galaxies the following was detected:
a). Two HI density peaks almost coinside on positions with two BCGs at the projection distance 22 kpc each other. These peaks are well resolved with the VLA synthesized beam 20.5" x 15". Their characteristic linear size is about 7 x 4 kpc (FWHM). These both alongated denser regions are oriented approximately perpendicular to major axes of the both optical galaxies, what is seemingly consistent with the picture of propagating star formation or/and ionized gas outflow from the giant regions of current star formation (superwind).
b). The surface density of the cold neutral gas in the vicinity of the both density peaks is several times larger than the threshold density necessary for onset of gravitational instability and gas collaps, what is quite consistent with current and recent intensive star formation in this system.
c). The estimate of the total dynamical mass in this system is obtained. It is shown that the Dark Matter mass is several times larger than baryon one (sum of gas and stars).
d) It is shown that close massive spiral galaxy (at the projection distance of about 140 kpc, and with dV = 120 km/s) NGC 1376 should excert strong tidal action on the gas in the HI cloud of SBS 0335-052. Probably recent "collision" with this giant galaxy is the trigger initiated the gas collaps and current first star formation burst in the both BCGs of this system.
