The table distance_method_codes keeps information on distance determination methods.

Field: method

VARCHAR

It is a short name which codes the method for distance determination. The method is a reference field for the method field of the rawdistance table.

Field: description

VARCHAR

Description is full name of the method.

Field: type

SMALLINT

It is a code for the method type

1 - standard candle (like Cepheids, TRGB and so on)

2 - standard ruler (like Maser, EPM and so on)

3 - secondary method (like Tully-Fisher, Faber-Jackson and so on)

Field: precision

REAL

The precision is a typical error of the distance modulus expressed in mag. The default value for error is 1 mag.
