Chilled 3-chip Color CCD Camera Model C5810

The Chilled 3-chip Color CCD Camera C5810 was developed to provide real color imaging in low light level conditions. This camera incorporates 3 CCD chips coupled to a trichromatic beam splitter that reproduces real colors at all microscope intensities. Special features for reducing the operating temperature of the 3 CCD chips and subtracting fluorescent backgrounds provide superior images in the most difficult conditions. A unique "Focus Mode" allow rapid focusing at low intensities to reduce bleaching and photo damage of delicate samples.

CCD exposure time can be specified to any value from 1/10000th of a second to 60 seconds, providing stop action images of rapidly moving object as well as accurate color reproduction of the dimmest fluorescent labels. Peltier elements are used to cool the CCDs to reduce thermal noise to minimal levels while fixed pattern noise such as illumination shading and any remaining thermal noise can be removed with the built-in image subtraction feature.

Two high resolution frame grabbers are built-in and provide the ability to add and subtract images of different images with different exposure times. A SCSI interface is included in each camera controller, making it possible to have complete computer control of the camera as well as digital image transfer to both MAC and PC computers.

Features
  • Auto exposure
  • Focus mode
  • High sensitivity, (about 1,000 times higher than a non-integration type 3-color CCD camera)
  • High image quality with low noise
  • Built-in image memories
  • Addition and subtraction of images (supports subtraction of background fluorescence)
  • Built-in computer interfaces (SCSI)
  • Both Real Time Analog Image output (RGB, Y/C, & NTSC color) and Digital Image outputs are included

Applications

  • FISH
  • Multi-fluorescence stained samples
  • Beating Heart cells
  • Pulmonary Cilia studies
  • Multi-mode imaging (Fluorescence and DIC or Phase Contrast)
  • Green Fluorescent Protein
