A Master List of Radio sources

Robert S. Dixon

Abstract
A Master List of radio sources has been prepared by combining about thirty catalogs in a common format. Approximately 25000 listings are included for some 12000 separate soures. The list is in order of increasing right ascension and is arranged for maximum utility and minimum complexity. Each entry gives the source name, 1950.0 position, flux density, and the frequiency at which it was observed. This list will be maintained and updated indefinitely at OSURO, and magnetic-tape copies of the latest versions will be available at any time.
....
When flux densities were measured at several frequencies, DITTO records are used to indicate the additional flux densities.
....
Table 3 is a direct printout of the magneti tape, with only record sequence numbers and identification tags omitted. No attempt has been made to coordinate multiple listings for the same source, inasmuch as this would be based on arbitrary criteria at best and would be ambiguous in cases where several sources in one list correspond to only one in another list of lower resolution.
....
Where both integrated and peak flux densities were given in list, intergated values were used in MSL.
