Computers become more and more popular nowadays. That means that the amount of people who are able to work with computer programmes and play computer games has increased. In many cases computer games are the only thing that a person is accustomed to. The learning process is quick, playing is challenging (although communication with computer itself is a fascinating process too). This is a perfect way of relaxing, however sometimes it turns into purpose of the whole life, and this moment is very difficult to notice and to stop on time.
People may solve patiences for hours, drive the cars hitting some targets and collecting points. They become nervous and dissapointed when they loose, and happy when they win. As a result - the whole computer is full of different kinds of games,
there's just no time for working. If a person divided the time for playing, for example at lunchtime or after the working day, before, now he is playing just right in his office. The conflict with collegues may probably be the result, but even this doesn't matter for the "homo playing". The center of all his vital interests is to go on playing his favourite game.
Comuter being becomes much more colourfull and attractive than real one. In reality this person is just an ordinary human, the member of the family, he has to solve dull everyday problems. In computer world he may be a powerful magician, emperor of the country, a famous hero.
It's not the results of a scientific research, but a real epidemic of a real desease, which grows slowly, comes. The first level of intoxication is by chance, when there's nothing to do or with concious purpose: to get rid of problems in real world. The second level is when you become addicted to computer. Without games this person feels down and bored.
The third level is a total addiction to computer games. Everything that intoxicated person says is about computer, all his attention is occupied with thoughts about different games, the speech is untranslateable. As a result of this epidemic "homo playing" may put on the isoreality helmet which makes a person, crazy about games, forget about food, slumber and all other components of real life: "homo playing" becomes isolated from community.
All this traumatic effects are controlled with the fact that not the whole populance is occupied with computers, moreover, the isoreality helmets are very rare and expensive (in contrast to the alcohol and drugs). But all scientists do agree that computer addiction is a real problem nowadays and it needs to be explored carefully. However computers in their laboratories are occupied with games and scientists enjoy them...
Some writers warned us about the use of these precautions about 30 years ago.For example Boris and Arkady Stroogatsky wrote about the influence of the ordinary radio on people in their book "Grasping Things of the Century".
Some time later when the scale of this problem is realized, the special law, wich controls the situation, may appear. But the practice is allways too late - for creating a new law some evidence and facts ought to be demonstrated. While the computer crimes are described in new Civil Code of Russian Federation, computer addiction is not even estimated as real narcomania which can be dangerous for community.
