The Christmas table looks muck like a Thanksgiving feast of turkey and ham, potatoes and pie. No Christmas is complete without lots of desserts, like other Christmas customs, which were started long ago in other parts of the world. Guests bring English fruit cake or plum pudding as presents to their hosts.

At Christmas gatherings, adults drink eggnog, a drink made of cream, milk, sugar, beaten eggs and brandy or rum.

A traditional Christmas dinner consists of stuffed turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and a variety of other dishes. Some families have ham or roast goose instead of turkey. Pumpkin pie, plum pudding, and fruitcake are favorite desserts.
