 Halloween. 
      Halloween - is a nice holiday, for children. People put pumpkins on the windowsills.
      They draw eyes, noses and mouths on the pumpkins and put candles into them.So the pumpkins look like a face.
 Children dress up in funny clothes. They go from house to house and say <<Trick or
      treat>>. People give them sweets fruit, cakes, cookies or money.
 The children play different games we'll show you one of them. It is a Duck apple.
 A large bowl is filled with cold, sometimes soapy water and A number of apples are floated
      in it. One or two players at a time get down on their knees and with their hands tied
      behind their backs, try to get hold one of the apples with their teeth.
 When they have done this they must lift the apple out of the basin . If they do this they
      may eat it.
 Christmas. 
      Christmas is a Christian holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ . For
      millions of Christians throughout the world it is the happiest and busiest time of the
      year . No one knows the exact date of Christ ' s birth but most Christians celebrate
      Christmas on December 25. People in the USA and Canada decorate their homes with Christmas trees , wreaths and
      ornaments.
 Children write letters to Santa Claus and tell him what presents they would like to get .
 A Christmas tree is one of the main symbols of Christmas in most homes . Some children
      hang up stockings so Santa Claus can fill them with candy , fruit and other small gifts .
 A traditional Christmas dinner consists of stuffed turkey , mashed potatoes , cranberry
      sauce and a variety of other dishes.
  St .Valentine's Day. 
      There are several legends about St .Valentine's Day . According to the legend he
      performed a miracle - he cured his jailer's daughter of her blindness. Before the
      execution he wrote her a letter signed 'From Your Valentine'. Another legend says that
      the same Valentine wrote to children and friends who loved him from the jail.According to another legend, Valentine was an Italian bishop who lived at about the same
      time. He was thrown into prison because he secretly married couples, contrary to the laws
      of the Roman empire. The legend says that he was burnt at the stake.
 Now St .Valentine's Day is the day of sweethearts. People send candy or flowers to those
      whom they love . Most people send 'valentines', greeting cards named after St .
      Valentine's letters written from`jail . People buy valentines or make them themselves.
