Classical School N1522 ensures general secondary education and in addition gives good knowledge of English, history and literature of English-speaking countries.

Our school is one of the oldest educational establishments of such kind in Moscow. It was founded in 1959. More than 500 pupils aged from 7 till 16 study here.

Pedagogical staff includes over 60 highly skilled teachers-experts. They are open to new forms and methods of teaching and implement new ideas into practice. Future teachers of English - students of Moscow Philological University do their practical work in our school every year.On leaving school our pupils get profound knowledge in such subjects as: English, history and literature of English - speaking countries, physics, biology, Russian and World literature, history, chemistry and others. Latin and a second foreign language (optional for pupils) are tought in our Classical school starting from the 6th and 8th forms respectively. Within the last years we practice to invite native - speakers to teach English and French in our

Classical school for fixed periods of time. This gives our pupils a brilliant opportunity to brush up their knowledge. As a rule more than 80% of graduates continue their education at such famous higher educational establishments as Moscow State University, Moscow Pedagogical University, Moscow Philological University, Moscow Medical Academy and others. Among those who once were our pupils are political figures, diplomats and economists, poets and engineers, teachers and doctors.

Classical school N1522 is a democratic educational institution. It is governed by the independent elective School Council which comprises teaches, students and parents. Teaching methods and upbringing problems are solved by Pedagogical Council.

Classical school N1522 is rich in traditions: A Get-together Party is held on the first Saturday in February every year. All graduates come to meet their teachers and friends, to remember nice years of school life: The Club of International Friendship which united children who made, contacts with teenagers of English-speaking countries by exchanging letters, receiving foreign delegations and that was the way they improved their speaking skills of English.

The Club of Intellectuals united those who were eager to develop their imaginations, to meet scientists or just interesting people. The Children's Diplomatic Academy worked within the frames of an International Movement "Teachers for Peace". In our school the Children's Diplomatic Academy had the aim to popularise the ideas of People's Diplomacy among children and teenagers.

The activity of the Academy suggested getting and spreading information of peace movements on all levels, taking part in international conferences where our students had not only a great opportunity of having good practice of English but also could see importance was the fact that children (and they really were) generated their own ideas and were listened to with respect and attention. That helped to bring up active people, perhaps future leaders with new political thinking.

Nowadays, our Classical School keeps up activities in students’ and teaches’ exchange done for various purposes, such as educational and cultural ones. We are the participants of the so - called "International Education Forum" - Project. In frames of this project some of our pupils managed to become guests of the USA President and passed through the Presidential classroom program. The above program included visits to all areas of government with lectures, presentations and discussions on each component of the American Government. Our pupils participated successfully in all debates and meetings and received extremely high appreciation from the American side. This, we believe, will also give a start to the further development of the intellectual abilities of children and will show them the ways to use their potential. The Club "Young Teachers of Health" works within the frames of an International Movement "Physicians for Peace". In our school the activity of the club is based on the original programme of "Lessons of Health" by Doctor M.Lazarev. Two most general aims of their activity are:

• to-teach children and teenagers to understand the principal problems of Health, Physiology, Psychology, and Ecology and to be able to use the knowledge in practice, that is to render first medical aid, to massage, to take prophylactic measures.
• to teach children to share their knowledge if wanted and to be a good example to others, because the opinion of a mate is often more important than the one of an adult or parents.

Classical school N1522 welcomes establishing professional contacts and friendly ties with colleagues from the USA schools and public organisations interested in these contacts.
