Supernova 2004aw in NGC 3997

This discovery is shared by Tom Boles (UK) and Koichi Itagaki (Japan) This was at first classified as a type Ia found vary young, but this later got changed to type Ic.   We have a DSS Photometry reference image made by Odd Trondal.  Icon generated from Tom Boles's discovery image.  This supernova is in the Constellation Leo.
