Supernova 2003ed in NGC 5303

Discovered by Japanese amateur Koichi Itagaki.
The host galaxy was identified in CBET 14 as "NGC 5303A" which
NED identifies as "NGC 5303". Note
that NGC 5303B
is not very far away, and this was the sight of a possible
(but debunked) supernova in 2000. Note: There
is a star to the north west of the nucleus which is opposite to
the side that the supernova is on.
This one was a type II found on the rise.
