Supernova 2000ch in NGC 3432

Supernova 2000ch in NGC 3432

This page is devoted to information on Supernova 2000ch in NGC 3432 Basic information on this SN, including the last reported brightness, on this Supernova can be found on the main page. Information on the original web pages for many of these images can be found on the Supernova links web page.

sn00ch_i.gif Another LOSS discovery. This one has an interesting history. 2000ch started out as a galactic variable, then after its red shift was measured became an extra galactic nova. Next, because of it's brightness (which is brighter than a Nova can get) it got reclassified subluminous type IIn supernova. Finally it appears that this may be an Eta Carini type explosion, similar to 1999bw, and 1997bs. Icon generated from LOSS discovery image.   On 2013/03/02.830 ISON-Kislovodsk observatory noticed an object, which was dubbed PSN J10524126+3640086 After some observation, it was noticed that the location of this object was identical to that of 2000ch.   It keeps comming back to life Masakatsu Aoki found it yet again, this time calling it TCP J10524126+3640086.
