Description:

This frigid weather should be well past by next weekend ( the 21st ) so we're planning our mid winter open house for then.  Also, besides the normal open house activities like solar observing and learning how to operate our various observatories, a Young Astronomer's meeting is planned around the planet Pluto and a presentation by U of R astronomer, David Cameron, on his recent comet discovery.  If snow conditions permit, our sledding hill will be available as well so bring your sleds, skis, tubes, toboggans, etc. and enjoy a few minutes or hours out of doors.  The main building will be heated and has a restroom.  Our deck grill will be operating as well for preparing your lunch or dinner.  Please bring your own beverages but hot water will be in the kitchen area for making your own hot chocolate, tea or coffee.  Young Astronomers should follow the emails from Carol Latta for more details!
