Control Room

Transmitter Console

The console at the Control Room is where all the parts of the 430 MHz Transmitter are controlled. Operating the transmitter is very simple, it consist of turning on the Intermediate Power Amplifier (IPA) and Power Amplifier (PA) Systems, and wait for approximately 15 minutes for the IPA High Voltage (HV) and PA HV to be ready.

Note: Don't raise the Power to much, you cause to many crowbar, burn the receivers or simply trash up the transmitter.

Racks

With the equipment of this racks various operations are performed. On the red racks the Intermediate Frequency (IF) 30 MHz signals from the Receivers and the Transmitter Samples are mixed and converted to Baseband. Then it goes through a filter that limits the Bandwith to 250 kHz and sent to the Analog-to-Digital (A/D) converters on the Radar and Transmitter Controllers racks. Finally the VME Crate writes the data into the hard disk.
