Confirmation of radio flares from the T6 brown dwarf WISEPC J1122+25

Our recently completed survey (A2776) has detected a circularly polarized flare from the T6 dwarf, WISEPC J1122+25. This is an exciting discovery, because it demonstrates that our detection of J1047+21 was not a "statistical fluke", which means that an intensive search for radio flares among the coolest UCDs and the hottest exoplanets has become an entirely plausible proposition. Although the J1122+25 flaring looks very real, more observations are obviously needed to confirm it. Such observations will not only verify the authenticity of the detected flare, but they will help establishing the basic magnetic (and possibly rotational) characteristics of the dwarf. This will definitely speed up and enrich the upcoming publication of the new detection.
