Radar Observations of a Temporary Satellite of Earth

We request one 3-hour observing track, October 23 from 03:30 to 06:30 AST, to detect a (presumably artificial) temporary satellite of Earth designated WT1190F by the Minor Planet Center. Because the ob ject is closer to Earth than the Moon, we require a bistatic experiment where Arecibo transmits at S-band and the Green Bank Telescope receives the echoes. These observations will help confirm if the ob ject is artificial and improve prediction of its future tra jectory, which currently suggests an eventual impact into Earth's atmosphere in mid-November.
