Radar Observations of Near-Earth Asteroid 2015 XA379

We request 1 observing track of 2.5 hours from 22:30 to 01:00 AST on February 1/2 to observe near-Earth asteroid 2015 XA379. This ob ject is on the NHATS list of dynamically accessible asteroids of interest to NASA for possible future robotic and crewed missions and observations were specifically requested by NASA. Very little is known about this ob ject other than its absolute magnitude of 25.3, which suggests a diameter of 25 meters (within a factor of two). Detection with radar will improve our knowledge of its orbit, estimate its rotation rate and surface properties, and possibly provide a size estimate.
