Arecibo Radar Imaging of Asteroid 12 Victoria in 2014

We propose to observe the main-belt asteroid 12 Victoria with the Arecibo S-band radar in late August 2014. This encounter is the best opportunity to observe Victoria since the Arecibo radar upgrade and for at least another decade. Signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) will be sufficient for delay-Doppler imaging and shape reconstruction. These observations will refine Victoria' s size, rotation state, and add to our relatively sparse knowledge of mid-size main-belt asteroid shapes.
