Slow pulsar investigation.

Do to the recent unstable behavior of the L-Band wide receiver, the LST range between 00:30 and 4:00 has become heavily under subscribed for the Arecibo telescope. Because of the sudden lack of pro jects in this range, we submit an urgent proposal to help remedy this issue. We wish to observe two slow rotating pulsars (J0241+16 and J0244+14). Both of these pulsars have period slightly over one second and lack a period derivative (p-dot) measurement. Pulsars in this period range often have interesting and complex emission changes. We wish to investigate whether these pulsars possess and classify any such fluctuations. An added bonus of this observation, is a rough measurement of p-dot based on the last time they are in the literature (2013). Such a measurement will allow us to infer a magnetic field strength and an age of the pulsar. This will also help understand whether the location of pulsars in the period vs p-dot diagram influence the type of emission fluctuations.
