PUPPI Polarization Calibration

We request 5.5 hours of time to collect polarization calibration data as part of the PUPPI instrument commissioning process. We will observe two full-sky tracks of the polarization calibrator pulsar PSR B0525+21. This will provide good parallactic-angle coverage of this bright pulsar using 4 different observing frequencies, allowing us to derive full calibration information (Mueller matrices) for the new PUPPI instrument. This calibration will be crucial for optimal NANOGrav timing and any other polarimetric observations using PUPPI. We will make the data set from this proposal public immediately so that all PUPPI users can benefit from it.
