Proposal Title: KISS Dwarfs: The HI Properties of a Complete Sample of Active Star-Forming
Dwarf Galaxies
ABSTRACT:
This proposal is a request for additional time to conclude HI observations for a new, ultra-deep sample of 108
active star-forming dwarf galaxies. Whereas previous HI studies of these objects have all employed heterogeneous
samples, this study seeks to obtain HI uxes and widths for a complete, uniformly catalogued sample of active
dwarf galaxies. Speci cally, the dwarfs we wish to observe are galaxies with MB 18 and cz 11,000 km s 1
from the KPNO International Spectroscopic Survey (KISS). When combined with our optical observations, these
data will allow for a more thorough understanding of the active dwarf galaxy phenomena.
