ABSTRACT:
Blue compact dwarf galaxies in the Virgo Cluster area will be mapped in the neutral hydrogen 21cm line to
investigate whether or not a large fraction of them have extended HI, or HI cloud companions, in their immediate
vicinities. This will help to test the hypothesis that tidal or collisional interactions provide the star formation
trigger in these systems.
