Radar Observations of Mercury during the Summer 2004 Conjunction

This is a prop osal to conduct a short campaign of S-band radar observations of Mercury in the summer of 2004. The observations will b e made around the August inferior conjunction, when the planet is closest to us and when the highest quality delay-Doppler imaging can b e done. This prop osal is intended primarily to image the north p olar ice and to improve our image coverage of the Mariner-unimaged hemisphere.
