Confirmation of a Giant Pulse Candidate Discovered by the Arecibo PALFA

Survey
ABSTRACT:
We request 1.5 hours to confirm PSR J0627+16, which was discovered via single pulse search. The best estimate for its period is 2.17 s but due to the small number of pulses detected this estimate may be a multiple of the actual period. The pulse width is only 0.3 ms, suggesting giant pulse emission.
