Arecibo Radar Imaging of Seven Near-Earth Asteroids During October 2009 -

January 2010
ABSTRACT:
We propose Arecibo S-band radar observations of seven strong targets from October, 2009 to January, 2010. Five ob jects have absolute magnitudes H<18 and may thus be more than 1 km in diameter. Not much is known about these asteroids currently. We plan to do Doppler-only observations, ranging, and high-resolution delay-Doppler imaging of all of the proposed targets. Our goals include detailed physical characterization of the asteroids, search for the potential satellites and orbital improvements, as well as, (data permitting) the shape modeling studies.
