Radar Observations of 2003 YT1

Asteroid 2003 YT1 will pass to within 0.075 AU of the Earth from 2004 May 15. This large (2 km) near-Earth asteroid presents an excellent opp ortunity for radar imaging, the b est in the last year, with >50 pixels resolution in each dimension. We prop ose to image this asteroid on as many days as p ossible during this interval to obtain go o d rotational and asp ect coverage. Unfortunately, this time overlaps with the "mid-panel replacement" on the same dates. We prop ose to p erform these observations after the workers finish. They are scheduled to work until 20:00, though sunset is ab out at 18:45. Details will dep end on how the mid-panel replacement pro ceeds.
