(ref. 12953)
As one of the elements of a major strategic investment in the Physics Department, which includes a £44M development of research and teaching facilities and an injection of new posts, the University invites applications for two Lectureships or Readerships in Astrophysics. You will have excellent research records or have demonstrated outstanding research potential, and will lead research in areas related to the Astrophysics Group's interests. You will also be able to demonstrate commitment to undergraduate teaching and postgraduate supervision, and will be expected to contribute strongly in both areas. The Bristol Astrophysics Group makes major use of international ground- and space-based observational facilities from the radio to X-ray wavebands in pursuit of its research aims which range from studies of the structure of the Galaxy to the evolution of the Universe. The Group wishes these new appointments to consolidate and broaden its current research base.
