Notes for the paper/tables
1) No need to have the "Observations" table, the integration times, and the rms values or derived upper limits from the rms values, could be added into the results tables described below. 2) The first table, the "Sample Properties", should also include L(60 m) and logD25. See layout below. 3) For the senior thesis, all spectra could be included. However, for the paper, we would have the spectra of the new detections only. 4) The paper should include: a) Introduction, including the science objectives. b) The Sample selection. c) General description of the observations. d) Results, which will have separate subsections for the HI and OH results. i. In the HI results, we will include the following tables: HI detections in emission. HI detections in absorption. HI nondetections. ii. In the OH results, we will have one table that includes the detections and the non detections of all the OH lines (main and satellite). Spectra corrupted by RFI could simply have "..." or "" entries. e) Discussion related to the whole sample, followed by short discussions of interesting objects. The latter would include any spectral index information or flux density values at frequencies other than 1.4 GHz for some of these interesting objects as needed. f) Future work, including future observations and the science we will do with the full IRAS NVSS sample.
