The site power was shutdown
on 20jan1999 to test the rfi emitted on site. I found the
datafile (/proj/x111/corfile.20jan99.x111.1) and reduced the lband and
430 data from the dome (after massaging the idl routines so i could
read in the old data
format). I used tapasi's memo to assign the different scans to
different on, off sequences..
The setup:
- telescope: az 437.87, dome=8.46, ch=8.83
- 430 dome
- 430 rcvr dome and carriage house centered at 430 MHz.
- interim correlator:
- 1024 channels x 12.5 MHz, dual pol, 9 level
- sbc 1 = dome, sbc2=ch.
- both bands flipped in freq.
- 5 6seconds dump taken per position.
- lband
- used center frequencies: 1160 1235 1310 1385 and 1460 Mhz.
- At each cfr took 25 Mhz -30, -10, +10, +30 Mhz about the center
freq.
- these are the offsets for the 4 interim correlator boards used
- interim correlator:
- 1024 channels x 25MHz, dual pol, 9 level
- sbc 1 = -30 mhz, sbc 2 =-10 Mhz, sbc 3= +10 mhz, sbc4=+30 mhz
- bands flipped in freq.
- 5 6seconds dump taken per position.
The shutdown sequence:
Everything was turned off (except as noted in (1)
below). Things where then switched on,off,on and then left on.

- The following stayed on during the complete shutdown:
- the old optical lab (or photometer lab) is on 110V Power from
Building 1.
- several incandescent lights
- 1 200MHz Pentium Computer and monitor
- 2 compressor-cooled water chillers
- 1 compressor unit for low temp detector
- 1 air purifier unit (with electrostatic filter)
- (4) optical lab
- off2 photometer and airconditioner in photometer building

Plotting the dome 430 data
The processing was:
- Each on and off was averaged to give 1 spectra over the 30
seconds of on , or off
- A robust linear + 12th order harmonic was fit to each 30
second average spectra (outliers were excluded). The average was then
divided by the fit and 1 was subtracted. This makes the vertical units
Tsys.
- Each plot contains:
- black: spectra for all off (step (1) above.
- red: power on at this location
- green: power cycled off at this location
- the top page is polA, the bottom page is polB.
- A dotted purple line was made where it looked like rfi was coming
from this location.
