Network Setup for PCW Monitoring


1. Install Stencil, Plug-Ins, .xif and .nxe files on laptop.
2. Start LonMaker
3. Name Network - No more than 7 letters, all caps, no numbers or special
characters.
4. Open CPG Stencil




5. Drag devices from stencil to drawing.
6. Name devices - No more than 8 letters, all caps, no numbers or special
characters.
7. Bind devices.
8. If remote alarm delivery is required, drag the LNS Network Interface
functional block from the stencil to the drawing. This must be done with
the network unattached.












9. For each device that must deliver alarms, bind msg_remote on the device
to msg_in on the LNS Network Interface functional block. On the
connector the "+" should be connected to the LNS Network Interface and
the "x" should be connected to the device.



10. Attach network interface put the network OnNet. Select "LonMaker
-Network Properties", click on the "Network Interface" tab, check the
"Network Attached" box, select the appropriate network interface name and
click "Apply". Select the "OnNet/Offnet tab and check the "OnNet box.








11. Commission each device by right clicking on the device and selecting
"Comission".



You will get this screen. It is typically not necessary to download a new
application image unless you want to upgrade the software in the card.



Select "Current values in device" on this screen. Selecting "Default
values" may generate an error.



12. Backup the network and save to a floppy. Select "File - LonMaker
Documents-Backup"



13. Backup both the drawing and the database.



14. Copy the backup file to a floppy for transfer to the customer's PC.
15. Set up the customer's gateway and PC according to procedures defined in
pages 3-3 through 3-9 of the PCW 2.0 User's Guide.
