boot up sequence for datataking

After a power outage, there is a sequence for booting up the datataking computers. To test things you need to have a computer that is working.
  1. Generic servers that supply directories to datataking:
    1. server: supplies lots of files. It is also the nis+ server that observer,2 uses. It is in the computer room.
    2. mofongo: This is the yp server for the linux machines. To check: ping mofongo, then slogin mofongo.
    3. wappserv: this is in the wapp room on your right as you enter the room. The wapps mount files from here. To check try ping wappserv then slogin wappserv -l wapp
    4. combate: this supplies pkg/aoui to wapps. It is in the computer room (somewhere). It is also called pserver1. To test ping pserver1, slogin pserver1.
    5. brandon: This supplies idl to observer. It is in the computer room. To check ping brandon, slogin brandon.
  2. datataking servers in control room.
    1. obsdisplay: This is the display computer for the monitors next to obserer2. It is a pc and is located in the corner of the control room (to the right behind the observer when they sit at observer2). It has no monitor.
    2. observer2: This holds files for the datataking vme computers to boot from.
    3. observer: This holds  log files for the datataking vme computers. It is in the corner of the control room (to the right behind the observer when sitting at obserer2). It is a sun computer. The monitor in the corner belongs to observer. To check: ping observer then slogin observer.
    4. control/operator computer. This has one of the scram net cards in it..
  3. vme crates:
    1. pnt crate: As you enter the wapp room, this is the top vme crate in the rack on your left.  Push the red reset button on the leftmost single board computer. This will reboot the entire crate. This controls the pointing, tiedowns, turret, sband console, irig clock.
      1. look at the observer2 console (if not there, the right click mouse on background, go to utilities, console). It will show the boot progress: pnt booting done ok, pntp1 booting done:ok, pntp3 booting done:ok. You can also try rsh pnt i. You should get a list of programs if the booting has completed.
    2. cor crate: In the wapp room on your left (as you enter). It is the 19" rack closest to the clocks. The vme crate is at the top. Push the red reset button on the leftmost single board computer. Use the same procedure as pnt to check when it is booted.
    3. da crate: This is in the reciever room next to the oscilloscope. Push the red reset button of the leftmost single board computer. Use the same procedure as the pnt cpu to check when it is booted.
  4. aeron cpu. In the receiver room next to the da crate. This can be booted after server and mofongo are up.
  5. The wapps. These can be booted after server, mofongo, wappserv  are up. Probably best to bring up
