The
offsets (in focal plane and sky) are shown for
various configurations (.ps) (
.pdf):
Each plot shows the location of the 19 dipoles in
various positions. I'
m using german's Nomenclature:
- 29jun10:
- previous to 29jun10 i was using germans transformation
equations to go from focal plane to sky.
- On 29jun10 i switched to use the measured center locations on
the sky.. but:
- Since i've only measured the sky locations of the centers, i
still need to use germans equations for the dipole locations for
everything but dipole 1. To do this i did:
- use germans equations to map from focus to sky
- subtract sky center location of dipole 1 from all dipoles
- add back on the measured center.
- The dipoles will now no longer overlap with the other
positions since the center location and german's equations are a little
off (when i get better center locations I'll give them to german to
update his fits).
- But the dipole locations should be pretty close to where they
are on the sky.
- A0 - center location on positioner of dipole
- A1-A6 - first hexagon
- C1-C6 - 2nd hexagon
- D1-D6 - 3rd hexagon
- +x is downhill, +y is toward the stairwell, +z is toward the
tertiary
- The plots are looking up at the PAF from the tertiary.
- The az,za offsets are the offsets for the positions. If you
wanted to put a source at the center of that position, the
offsets would be minus these values..
- Page 1,2 have the dipoles as they are mounted on the positioner
with no rotation.
- Page 3-10 include the rotations used for observations.
