Gas and Dust in the Pleiades Reflection Nebula |

This is a study of the interstellar matter associated with the Pleiades star cluster.
The investigation started as an ultraviolet polarimetry survey of the nebula
with the WISP rocket
telescope but grew to include a variety of other
photometric and spectroscopic data by the time I completed my PhD thesis in
1997. Summaries of this work can be found in my dissertation abstract as well as several old conference
proceedings.
Since that time, the project has been extended to include more thorough tests
of dust scattering models, more detailed analyses of the gas kinematics, and
power spectrum studies of the multiscale structure of
the nebulosity. The papers emerging from these astronephological efforts are:
