Arecibo Call for Proposals: September 4, 2012, Deadline

Arecibo telescope proposal deadlines now fall on (or about) March 1 and September 1 each year. The corresponding scheduling terms are July 1-December 31 and January 1-June 30. Proposals should be prepared under the revised procedures detailed in

Revised Procedures for Proposal Disposition and Telescope Scheduling.

We invite proposals for the use of the Arecibo 305-m telescope for the September 4, 2012 (17 EST), deadline. These requests should be for telescope usage within the six-month (or in some cases one-year) period beginning January 1, 2013.

Latest news with relevance to the above deadline.

For the September 4 deadline, we highlight the availability for general use of the new Arecibo PUPPI (Puerto-Rico Ultimate Pulsar Processing Instrument) pulsar backend.

Technical information (including for PUPPI) that could be of use to prospective Arecibo proposers can be found at

Technical information for Arecibo proposers.

The (revised) web-form coversheet for proposals can be found at

Web Coversheet Form.

Remember to also separately email a PDF of the main body of your proposal to proposal@naic.edu.

Please email any questions about this call for proposals to camilo@naic.edu.
