Workshop on UK involvement in future ground-based B-mode and SZ experiments

Scientific Rationale

This workshop will discuss possible future CMB ground-based experiments, aimed particularly at detection of primordial B-mode polarisation and at imaging of the Sunyaev-Zel'dovich effect.

Aims

• Put together a broad UK collaboration that can play a major role in next generation sub-orbital CMB experiments with international collaborators.
• Identify areas of scientific interest and key technologies for the UK to develop.
• Identify common technologies for B-mode and SZ experiments and synergies with other programmes.
• Produce a timeline and a UK strategy document for STFC, identifying a route towards a satellite mission (for B-modes).
