In the INAF AAlo design the antenna signals are sent to a local processing node (called digital station) through analogue optical links

General link specifications: Frequency band: 70-450MHz Max link length: 500mt SFDR=50dB RIN=107dB/Hz2/3

Ultra low cost and low power consumption devices are required due to the huge amount of antennas and receivers

Several examples of RoF links based on VCSEL devices reported in literature have specifications close to the requested.
