This is the first announcement for the conference:

GALAXY EVOLUTION OVER FIVE DECADES

Sept 3-6, 2013
Cavendish Astrophysics,
Cambridge, UK

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that pre-registration is now open for a
conference on galaxy evolution to be held at Cambridge University, which
will focus on studies from infrared to long radio-wavelengths. Our
understanding of galaxy formation and evolution is currently benefiting
from a suite of new and planned facilities such as JWST, CCAT, ALMA, the
JVLA, LOFAR and the SKA. This international conference is intended to bring
together staff, post-docs and students to discuss the current state of the
field and future directions, and will be held in honour of Professor
Malcolm Longair, who has made invaluable contributions to our knowledge of
galaxy evolution and to the Astrophysics Group at the Cavendish Laboratory.

Areas to be covered include:

- AGN and Galaxy Evolution
- Gas in Galaxies
- The High-redshift Universe and the First Galaxies
- Galaxy Assembly and Cosmic Star-formation History
- Galaxy Clusters and the Role of Environment

Participation will be limited to 150 attendees so please confirm your
interest by pre-registering through our website:
