Dear colleagues,
The final arrangements are now being made for 'Galaxy Evolution over
Five Decades' in Cambridge next week. The conference program can be found

For participants staying at Churchill College, please go to the Porters'
lodge upon arrival to check into your rooms.

For those who have not yet booked accommodations, there are no single rooms
remaining at Churchill, however, the city has a good selection of hotels
and bed and breakfasts along Citi bus routes for transportation to the
Cavendish Laboratory. Bicycle rentals are also available throughout the
city.

There will be a reception at the Institute of Astronomy between 18:00 and
20:00 on Monday, where drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and finger food
will be provided. The IoA is within walking distance of Churchill College.

The main conference venue will be the Pippard Lecture theater of the
Cavendish Laboratory, which can be accessed either by Clerk Maxwell Road or
JJ Thomson Avenue. Signs will be posted to direct you to the entrance.
Lunches for registered participants will be served in the marquee just
outside of the lecture theater.

Speakers, please be advised that you will not be able to use your own
laptop. We will have both a pc with PowerPoint and a mac with Keynote
available and you should have your presentation ready on a usb stick to be
given to an LOC member well in advance of your talk. For poster presenters,
remember that you have the option of summarizing your poster results on a
single page slide that will be displayed during the coffee breaks on the
main projector screen. The preferred format is png, but pdf is acceptable.
Please send these to galevolloc@mrao.cam.ac.uk or have them ready on a usb
stick to give to an LOC member during the breaks.

The abstract books for talks and posters are available online and linked to
the 'Programme' page. In order to minimize waste, we will not be printing
copies of these for everyone. Poster presenters should note the number of
their poster in the abstract book as this indicates the poster board space
they have been allocated. A0 size, or smaller is acceptable.

The conference dinner will be on Thursday night at Girton College beginning
at 7:30pm, but you are welcome to arrive between 6 and 6:30 to tour the
grounds and enjoy a welcome drink. Tickets are still available for 45 GBP,
but should be purchased no later than Tuesday morning. Only Cheque or cash
payments will be accepted during the conference.
