The Cepheid P-L relation metallicity dependence,
Hubble's Constant and Type Ia Supernovae.

Using both new UBVK data on the Galactic Open Clusters which
contain Cepheids and a new analysis of the Distance Scale HST
Key Project Cepheid data in external galaxies we argue that
the Cepheid P-L relation has a strong metallicity dependence in
both its zeropoint and its dispersion. This eect worsens an al-
ready known scale error between Tully-Fisher distances and HST
Cepheid distances. The eect may also indicate a metallicity de-
pendence of the standard candle properties of Type Ia supernovae
at maximum light. The likely impact on both estimates of Hub-
ble's Constant and SNIa Hubble diagram estimates of the decel-
eration parameter are discussed.
