Title: Siding Spring Observatory by day - Tim Wetherell
Description: Dr Tim Wetherell not only has a PhD in condensed matter physics, but is well regarded for his scientifically inspired sculptures. Dr Tim Wetherell obtained his PhD in condensed matter physics from the University of St Andrews, emigrating to Australia in 1990 to take up a research position at the ANU. In addition to his scientific interests, Dr Wetherell is a sculpture graduate of the ANU and has been a practising artist for many years. He is known primarily for his scientifically inspired sculptures, which have been exhibited at the National Gallery of Australia and at Sculpture by the Sea. His public commissions include the Iron Astronomer outside Questacon in the ACT. He is also a capable photographer.
