Emu and Egg! The Milky Way from the Southern Cross to Scorpius seen above the ANU 24-inch telescope dome. Several Aboriginal tribes see the structure of these dust and gas clouds in the Milky Way as representing an emu. Its head, complete with beak, is the dark cloud (which we call the Coalsack) just below the Cross at the top right of the picture.
