Science Festival Event

The RSAA hosted 'Hearts and Stars' event started with Paul's lecture and followed by champagne, cocktail food and musicians in the CSO building to set the mood. Eduard, Brad and Emma lead the visitors on a tour of the sites and highlighted the history of the CSO building and telescopes on the mountain along with the details on future telescopes like SkyMapper and GMT.
Adi gave the visitors an overview of the 400 history of the telescope and a tour of the night sky. Well as much of the night sky as the clouds permitted!
With Wolfgang playing the role of Galileo, our visitors got up close and personal with Jupiter and its moons using Little SkyMapper. Our visitors got to see much like what Galileo saw - a planet with red and white bands and moons and a planet so big that more than a 1000 Earths could fit inside it!
It could be said - "Showing them the Stars, we won their Hearts!"
