Hilary Jones

Congratulations to Hilary Jones, the Grand Prize of the Meade Messier Challenge!

"I still don't believe it!  I knew that there were many people who had bigger telescopes, fancier equipment, and more experience; so I knew they might produce better pictures than I  could.  I was amazed to hear that I had won and excited to think what a fine prize I would be getting. The Deep Sky Imager is a great camera!  It has brought affordable, high quality astrophotography within reach of many, and I am looking forward to seeing more products like it from Meade." - Hilary Jones, Danville , CA

Chuck Domarcki

Congratulations to Chuck Domaracki, the First Prize winner of the Meade Messier Challenge!

"I am honored and at the same time humbled. There are so many good imagers out there and I saw many fine images from others that were made with the DSI. When I received the call I was excited but I don't think it really hit me until after I had hung up. I honestly believe that the DSI is the best value in astronomical imaging today. Not only can one take fine images with it, but have them in color also. The DSI costs less than many filter sets, that to me is incredible. It is and should be the automatic choice for any who want to start out in this fascinating hobby of CCD imaging." - Chuck Domaracki, Memphis , MI

Rick Krejci

Congratulations to Rick Krejci, the Second Prize winner of the Meade Messier Challenge!

"I am thrilled!  I set out to show the imaging community that you don't need an expensive telescope and camera to get great images of the heavens, and I ended up doing well in an imaging contest...I'd say it worked! The DSI can indeed live up to the marketing claim "shoot and process stunning deep sky photographs of galaxies, nebulae, star clusters and planets their first night out".   Astrophotography can be the most frustrating hobby there is, but is also the most exhilarating!  Success comes with experience.  A beginner will struggle to get great results the first night out with any new telescope or camera...it's because it's the first time trying to do something that even professionals struggled with not so long ago.   If you have a desire to learn the art of astrophotography, the DSI is a great first step."
