Design of optical systems

The research work and design of optical and optical-electronic devices are carries out by laboratory staff:

  • Astronomical devices:
    • Telescopes;
    • Correctors;
    • Spectrometers;
    • Polarimeters;
    • Spectrometer-polarimeters;
  • Lens:
    • "Fish-Eye" lens;
    • Fast lens;
  • Interferometers;
  • other optical devices.

The desing of different optical systems by the individual orders is posible.

The most significant calculations and development.

Astronomical devices

Highly effective astrospectropolarimeters with the low resolution

The onboard ultra-violet spectrometer-poljarimetr for monitoring of planetary atmospheres is developed in laboratory of atmospheric optics of Main astronomical observatory NAN Ukraine on space experiment "Planetary monitoring".
The model of an onboard spectrometer-polarimeter and experimental variant of a ground-based spectrometer-polarimeter of support are developed.

Onboard UV spectrometer-polarimeter

The main advantage - a minimum quantity of elements.
In the layout 1 prism systems perform functions of dispersive element, corrector of aberrations, optical reducer.
In the layout 2 deformation of Wollaston prism can correct the aberrations of the system with a small number of elements.

Specification:

  • Spectral range 200 - 400 nm;
  • Reducer ratio - 3;
  • Spectral resolution : 20 points.

Ground-based spectrometer-polarimeter

The basic efforts by device designing have been directed on maintenance of its high efficiency in a wide spectral range:
Manufacturing techniques of superachromatic phase plates;
Designing of prism systems with quasi-linear dispersion;
Loss of light must be minimized;
Spectropolarimeter should work as an optical reducer.

Specification:

  • Spectral range - 350 - 1050 nm;
  • Spectral resolution - 30 up to 50 points;
  • Working F# - 1:16:1:10;
  • Ability to work on the stars and extended objects.

Corrector

The main corrector's function are compensation of field aberrations of the main spherical mirror of a telescope (diameter of 600 mm, f'=1200 mm) and increase aperture ratio. This system is practical for detection of small bodies of solar system (asteroids, comets). The presence in system of parallel ray direction allows to use interference filter.

Specification:

  • Diameter of 1-st lens - 200 mm;
  • Aperture F# - 1:1.7;
  • FOV - 2w= 2.4њ;
  • Spectral range - 480...800 nm;
  • Resolution:
    at center field - 100 lp/mm;
    ar corner field - 70 lp/mm;
  • Field curvarure - 0,02%.

Lens

High power "fish-eye" lens for atmospheric observations

The Fish-Eye lens MAO-08 is intended for observations of weak extended objects (aurora, twilight and dawn phenomena, stratospheric clouds, etc.) in narrow spectral bands with variable passband filters VARISPECand in white light.
Besides having high power this lens can be used for meteors observations.
The feature of lens is ability to work with interference filters. Its first part converts 180? of FOV in +6?, and the back part develops a relative aperture up to 1:0.8. Such reception has allowed to receive unique optical characteristics at a compact design.

Spesifications:

  • Paraxial focal length - 1.6 мм;
  • FOV - 180њ ;
  • Linear FOV on matrix - a circle 4.2 mm diameter;
  • Aperture F# - 1:0.82;
  • No vigneting;
  • Spectral range - 430...750 nanometers;
  • Resolution:
    at center field - 100 lp/mm;
    at cornerfield - 70 lp/mm;
  • Fastening to the camera - standard, CS-mount
  • back working distance - 5.8 mm (or 4.2 mm up to a protective glass of matrix);
  • Dimensions, no more:
    - length (with covers) - 235 mm;
    - diameter - 103 mm.

Converter

Converter is a front element of optical systems for observations of Aurora structure. The systems includes fast lens (Kowa, Japan) also. The main purpose of converter are increase an entrance diameter about 75 mm to 220 mm and reduction of FOV. The system works with optical interference filter.

Spesifications:

  • Focal length - 150 mm;
  • FOV 2w - 4.2њ;
  • Aperture F# - 1:1;
  • Spectral range - 500...770 nm;
  • Resolution:
    at center field - 100 lp/mm;
    at corner field - 100 lp/mm.

Fast lens

Several types fast lens are designed. Lenses are applied in digital X-ray diagnostical devices. Excellent perfotmance from cenret to corner of the field with high power.

Specifications:

  • Focal length - 11 mm;
  • FOV 2w - 45њ ;
  • Aperture F# - 1:0.65;
  • Vigneting at the field - 30%
  • Spectral range - 400...700 nm;
  • Rasolution:
    at center field - 120 lp/mm;
    at corner field - 100 lp/mm; Back focal length - 5.0 nn ( 3.1 nn to maxtix cover glass).
