Recursive towers and graph theory

Marc Perret (Toulouse)

Abstract

Many explicit recursive towers were described since about 20 years, unfortunately without any hint for there discovery. We will give in this talk some necessary conditions for a recursive tower to be good. We will also prove a nice property on the number of points of given degree at high level of the towers. The main tools will be intersection theory on surfaces and graph theory. This is a joint work together with Emmanuel Hallouin.
